Abstract

Abstract:

This study examines the concept of those described as "they do not reason" in light of the Holy Qur’an through an interpretive lens. The research is structured into an introduction, a preface, and eight chapters, following an inductive descriptive methodology. The main findings include:

  1. Reason is the basis of legal accountability, and all human actions stem from it; thus, guidance is mentioned in the verse only after reason.
  2. Whoever disables their reason from reflecting upon knowledge and faith is deemed without reason, aligning with animals—or even falling below their rank. God Almighty granted humans faculties—hearing, speech, and sight—to be used in obedience to Him; whoever fails to use them for understanding religion and Sharia becomes as though they lack them.
  3. Mocking Islam or any of its rites indicates a lack of reason, as it reflects an inability to comprehend the merits of Islam; likewise, innovating in religion and attributing it to God is a sign of deficient reason.
  4. A person who acknowledges God’s lordship—His creation, sovereignty, and governance—but associates partners with Him in divinity, is without reason, for how can one affirm God’s management of all affairs yet turn to others in worship?
  5. Failing to reason and properly employ the intellect leads to numerous calamities, evils, and disgrace, as well as division, worldly and eternal loss, and a lack of reverence for the Prophet (peace be upon him).
