Abstract

The current research aims to know the impact of a teaching program based on the theory of transformational learning and its effectiveness in developing the information processing skills of students of the Faculty of Arabic Language at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, and the study used the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design for the two groups (experimental - control).

The research sample consisted of (66) students at the sixth level from the Faculty of Arabic Language, who were randomly selected. It was divided into two groups: the experimental group (34) female students, and the control group (32) female students. The study used a tool that is to test information-processing skills. The study found a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the control group’s scores in the post-application of interpretation skills, and the identification of causal and correlational relationships, application, and summary and the test as a whole. The study presented a set of recommendations and research proposals.
