The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a training program to develop independence skills among students with mental disabilities in the primary stage. The study used the quasi-experimental approach, and the study relied on the independence skills scale and the training program prepared by the researcher. The study sample consisted of (10) students from students with mental disabilities in schools. Primary school affiliated with the Al-Baha Region Education Department, whose chronological ages ranged between (7-10) years, with an average age of (8.90) years and a standard deviation of (1.197). The sample was divided into two groups (5) experimental and (5) control, and the results of the study indicated the presence There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01) between the average ranks of the scores of the control and experimental groups in the post-measurement of the independence skills scale and its sub-dimensions in favor of the experimental group. There are also statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the average ranks of the scores of the members of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurements of the score. The totality of the independence skills scale and its sub-dimensions in the direction of the post-measurement, and also the absence of statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the scores of the members of the control group in the pre- and post-measurements of the independence skills scale and its sub-dimensions, as well as the absence of statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the scores of the members of the experimental group in the two measurements.
